Job Summary:
The Caledonia County Child Advocacy Center Case Manager/Family Advocate will provide a consistent presence onsite during business hours and be responsible for attending to the program and meeting victim needs and providing support to the local Multidisciplinary Team. This position is the supportive contact with families from case initiation through possible adjudication, involving issues of child sexual and physical abuse. It serves as the front-line advocate for child victims and non-offending family members/caregivers. This position is responsible for providing information to families and assisting with finding support services, including follow-up care. Additional case management and administrative duties apply. Provide day-to-day clerical support and reports to the Director of the CAC/SIU program.Desirable attributes:

Responsibilities:
Advocate & Case Manager Overvie w:- Initiates contact with victims and families during the investigative process - remains with family as needed through their time at the facility.
- Gives caregivers program intake and appropriate information and assists as needed.
- Updates and maintains caregiver resources with the Executive Director.
- Contact caregivers, if given permission, within 72 hours after the initial interview and adheres to the NCA accreditation guidelines.
- Provides crisis management and ongoing support as needed both in-person and by phone.
- Manages intakes from DCF via an online tracking system - NCATrak.
- Contact family to schedule forensic Interview, complete the intake process and confirm with the MDT team members. Provide families with a tour of the center upon arrival.
- Participates in Domestic Violence Task Force Meetings.
- Receive and screen telephone calls and delegate to the appropriate person.
- Identifies community resources and makes appropriate referrals for services, collaborate and keep MDT partners informed of all referrals made and follow up.
- Answer questions about issues related to child sexual abuse.
- Meet with children and non-offenders family members to provide information on personal safety.
- Serves as a liaison with the community and investigative agencies to help them tailor their investigation to the needs of the families.
- Participates in case review meetings and keeps the agenda current. Provides agenda to the MDT facilitator 1 week prior to the scheduled meeting.
- Maintains supplies, including but not limited to brochures, refreshments, and resources available. Administrative Overview
- Quarterly stats completed and emailed to the Executive Director by the 5th of January, April, July, and October.
- Obtain quarterly stats from the State's Attorney's Office and input them into the Prosecution Tracking Sheet.
- VOCA Stats completed and emailed to the Program Director by the 5th of each quarterly reporting period. (Jan, April, July, and October).
- Enters initial intake into NCATRAK and adds additional information as cases progress through case closure.
- Enters mental health therapy information into NCATRAK.
- Maintains appropriate statistics for grant reporting and funding opportunities.
- Attends required training, 8 hours per year minimum of Child Abuse training. Various NCA training requirements which change annually.
- Maintain the video recording system and support all recording system needs.
- Assist in running monthly MDT as needed.
- Help to order supplies/let the Program Director know of needs for the office and clients.
- Seek out grants and assist with fundraising. Center Overview
- Assist with keeping the CAC clean and tidy. Assist with trash, recycling, cleaning of rooms following interview and on a weekly basis.
- Answer phones, greet foot traffic, and speak with visitors. Qualifications/Job Requirements
- Associate's degree or equivalent and two years experience working in an office setting.
- Prior work experience in child welfare, human services, or a related field.
- Ability to adjust and be flexible with schedule.
- Successfully pass fingerprint, criminal and child abuse registry checks upon hire. Fingerprint cost is reimbursable after hire.
- Strong computer skills, working knowledge of Word, Excel, Facebook, One Drive.
- Internet and electronics savvy.
- Adhere to confidentiality policies - Ability to exercise considerable discretion and to work in a highly confidential environment.
- Must possess the ability to engage children and adults of all ages and developmental abilities and respond to cultural differences present among organizations, populations, and staff.
- Must be capable of working well collaboratively and engaging in a multidisciplinary team.
- Detail-oriented and able to prioritize issues appropriately and make sound decisions.
- Must be able to work independently and have strong organizational skills. Job Overview
- Part-time, 20 hours per week.
- The pay range is $24.00-28.00 per hour based on experience.
- Monday - Friday, flexible hours and must be discussed and approved by the Executive Director.
- The ability to be present when forensic interviews are being conducted is a must.
