Role Overview:
The Child Watch Specialist will provide a safe and nurturing environment for children while their caregivers attend appointments at our clinic. They will also be responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, supervising children, and maintaining a clean and orderly child watch area. The child watch specialist should enjoy being around children and feel comfortable juggling multiple responsibilities. Ideal candidates must be able to manage individuals as well as small groups of children. Must have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work well with others.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing a safe, nurturing, yet fun environment for children. Supervise children during playtimes. Modeling good behavior and encouraging children to follow them. Encourage positive social interaction among children.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively via oral or written means. Ability to present a friendly and positive demeanor to veterans, their families, staff, supportive services personnel, funders, and the public. Ability to work effectively on multiple tasks and maintain a well-organized work environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently. Capacity for flexibility and adaptability in different work situations
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Working toward an associate or bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development or another related field preferred.
Experience :
One to two years of knowledge and experience working with children. Experience working with military families or veteran populations is preferred. Bilingual candidates are highly preferred.
Other:
Pass required background screening. CPR and First Aid certifications required.
Clinic Hours of Operation :
8:00 am - 7:00 pm Mon-Thurs and 8:00 - 3:00 pm on Fridays. Employees should expect to work some evenings. Flexible schedules are available. Why Join Us?
