A Family, School, or General Case Manager coordinates the delivery of a range of social and health services to individuals and families. Assess client needs and work with agencies and institutions ensure clients get the help they need. Monitor client and work with other service providers as necessary to address client needs. Provide limited counseling to client and their family.
CASE Team Leader CASE Team Leaders are UW undergraduate or graduate students who provide leadership for the CASE-Quileute or CASE-Makah team throughout the academic year. Team Leaders work alongside Riverways staff, CASE Mentors, educators, students, and community partners to support reciprocal, community-guided STEM learning experiences and sustained relationships with their partner community. Throughout the academic year, Team Leaders help coordinate weekly team meetings, site visits, UW campus visits, STEAM Alternative Spring Break, and mentorship of high school student interns while supporting CASE Mentors in developing culturally relevant & sustaining STEM programming. We are currently recruiting a CASE-Quileute Team Leader for 2026-2027. The CASE-Makah application is coming soon.

Description CASE Team Leaders will: Participate in and help lead weekly CASE team meetings throughout the academic year. Support and mentor CASE Mentors as the team learns about its partner community and develops STEM learning experiences. Build and sustain relationships with students, educators, and community partners. Work collaboratively with the CASE team and community partners to co-create culturally relevant & sustaining STEM lesson plans and hands-on activities. Participate in periodic site visits to the assigned partner community and UW campus visits. Support mentorship of high school student interns. Help the team prepare for and participate in STEAM Alternative Spring Break. Support team organization, communication, planning, and reflection throughout the academic year.
Time Commitment:
Approximately 2-3 hours per week during autumn and spring quarters and 5-6 hours per week during winter quarter. Actual weekly commitments may vary depending on upcoming program activities. Required qualifications Current UW undergraduate or graduate student. Availability to commit to CASE throughout the academic year. Availability to participate in weekly team meetings and required program activities. Availability and willingness to travel periodically to the assigned partner community. Availability to participate in STEAM Alternative Spring Break. Willingness to learn from community partners and engage respectfully as a guest in the partner community. Strong communication, organization, and follow-through. Willingness to support and provide leadership to fellow CASE team members. Desired skills and abilities A strong CASE Team Leader candidate demonstrates: Interest in sustained partnership with Tribal communities. Experience mentoring, teaching, facilitating, or working with young people. Experience leading, coordinating, or supporting a team. Strong organization and communication skills. Ability to support collaborative team processes. Curiosity, humility, and willingness to listen and learn from community partners. Interest in culturally relevant & sustaining STEM education and community-engaged learning. You do not need to be pursuing a STEM degree to serve as a CASE Team Leader. Graduate Team Leaders:
Receive one quarter of GSA funding during Winter quarter.
Undergraduate Team Leaders:
Receive equivalent hourly compensation at $21.30/hour.
All Team Leaders:
Receive a $1,956.35 AmeriCorps Education Award upon successful completion of the program.
