Job Description

Xavier Catholic Schools is seeking a Care Program Aide to help support the daily operations of our before, after, and extended care programs. This person will assist in creating a safe and nurturing environment for our Elementary school students. The ideal candidate is passionate about child development and making a positive impact in a school setting. This is a part-time position, Monday - Friday. Hours could vary between 1:00 - 6:00
Responsibilities:
Assist Childcare Program Leads in planning and facilitating age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, games, field trips, homework help, and other activities. Encourage and assist student participation and engagement in all activities. Support the development of social skills and positive interactions among students. Assist in providing health snacks and meals, while also assisting with proper hygiene, eating, and toileting practices. Monitor students during program hours to ensure their safety and well-being. Report any suspect abuse to the supervisor. Implement and enforce program rules and guidelines consistently. Communicate program policies and updates to parents/guardians. Respond promptly to any emergencies or incidents, following established protocols. Maintain open and effective communication to staff, students, and parents/guardians. Help set up and clean up care program rooms/spaces before and after activities. Ensure that all supplies and materials are properly maintained and stored. Safeguard confidential information and inquiries in a professional manner. Represent Xavier Catholic Schools professionally in interactions with stakeholders, including parents, community members, staff and students
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in Early Childhood or equivalent preferred. Experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting is preferred. CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills Patience, creativity, and a genuine interest in working with children Proficient in using technology including hardware, software and applications Demonstrates teamwork skills with individuals from diverse backgrounds Skilled in conflict resolution and maintaining confidentiality Submission to a legal background check
