Job Description

The Children's Home Society of WV is hiring a part-time Family Aide to support our Foster Care Program at our Morgantown location.
Job Summary:
To provide aide-level services, such as supervised visitation and transportation, to children and families served in our foster care program.
What you will be doing:
Supervise visitations between the child and his/her biological family, as needed. Establish and maintain positive relationships with the child's biological family through honest interactions and active listening. Provide encouragement and support through positive role modeling. Help biological parents become involved in activities with their children while modeling positive and appropriate parent/child interactions. Educate biological parents about the stages and processes of child development. Teach appropriate and consistent child management techniques. Provide meaningful observations, both oral and written, of children and their families and provide appropriate, accurate, and timely recommendations. Complete thorough and accurate documentation. Meet required deadlines. Provide transportation to family visits, appointments, etc., as needed. Assist with miscellaneous office duties, such as filing paperwork. Attend staff meetings, supervisory conferences, and trainings as requested and offered. Commit to permanency for every child. What you will bring to the table: Passion and determination. What you will need:
Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated ability to work with children, youth, and families. Valid driver's license and automobile insurance coverage. Criminal Background Check and Child Abuse Registry Check. Flexibility to work irregular hours, including some evenings and weekends. Must be 21 years of age or older.
