Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate DC Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) to join our dynamic mental health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive clinical services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Your expertise will help individuals and families navigate mental health challenges, developmental disabilities, trauma, and behavioral health issues. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and intake interviews to determine individual needs and treatment plans Deliver evidence-based psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA) for clients with diverse conditions including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), PTSD, addiction, and developmental disabilities Develop and implement personalized treatment strategies that incorporate motivational interviewing, crisis intervention, group therapy, and case management services Maintain accurate medical documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including medical professionals, educators, community agencies—and participate in clinical research initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes Provide specialized counseling for pediatrics, geriatrics—including Alzheimer's care—and individuals with disabilities or complex mental health needs Engage in data collection and analysis for ongoing research projects related to behavioral health and social work practices Qualifications Valid DC Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) credential with current licensure in good standing Proven experience in psychotherapy, mental health counseling, crisis management, and case management across diverse populations Strong working knowledge of EMR systems, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, medical records management, and medical terminology Demonstrated expertise in working with children & family counseling, autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, PTSD care, addiction counseling, geriatrics—including Alzheimer's—and special education settings Familiarity with behavioral health interventions such as applied behavior analysis (ABA), psychopharmacology considerations, diagnostic evaluation tools, and crisis intervention techniques Excellent communication skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams Commitment to ethical standards including HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of medical records Join us to empower individuals through compassionate care while advancing your professional growth in a vibrant environment dedicated to excellence in mental health services!
