Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor to join our dynamic mental health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive counseling services to individuals across diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults. Your expertise will support clients through various challenges such as trauma, grief, behavioral issues, and co-occurring disorders. We integrate Christian faith into counseling for clients who desire it while welcoming individuals from all backgrounds. You will utilize evidence-based practices to develop personalized treatment plans, conduct mental health assessments, and deliver therapy through in-person or telehealth modalities. Responsibilities Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing coding standards to determine client needs. Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, behavior management, and psychodynamic therapy. Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions addressing issues like PTSD, grief, addiction, autism spectrum disorders, gender issues, and developmental disabilities. Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety during emergencies. Maintain accurate clinical documentation adhering to HIPAA regulations and clinical documentation standards within electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems. Collaborate with other providers. Engage in ongoing research and professional development to stay current with advances in mental health treatments and coding updates. Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field; licensure or certification as required by state law. Proven experience working with children, adolescents, or individuals with developmental disabilities in outpatient or inpatient settings. Strong knowledge of psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance/movement therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Experience with crisis intervention techniques and managing co-occurring disorders including substance abuse and mental health conditions. Familiarity with medical terminology, clinical documentation standards, CPT coding for billing purposes, and telehealth platforms. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, Geriatrics patients with chronic pain or trauma histories. Excellent communication skills for client engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration; proficiency in EMR/EHR systems preferred.
