Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Mental Health Counselor with a master's degree in social services or a related field to join an emergency/acute care clinical team. The role involves providing psychiatric risk assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and supporting patients and families in Medical and Psychiatric Emergency Departments.
Qualifications include:
Master's Degree or Ph.D. in social services, psychology, or related field Alaska licensure (e.g., Social Worker, Psychologist, Therapist, Counselor) upon hire National Provider BLS certification within 30 days At least 3 years of clinical mental health experience Key duties: Conduct psychiatric risk assessments and diagnosis Develop and implement treatment plans Provide crisis intervention and support to patients and families Collaborate with emergency care teams to ensure patient safety and care continuity Skills and attributes: Licensed mental health professional with relevant clinical experience Strong assessment, diagnostic, and crisis intervention skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced emergency environment Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Join a patient-focused organization committed to whole-person care, diversity, and community service.
