Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled to work as line cook and prep cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in food preparation, ensuring that all ingredients are ready for our chefs to create delicious meals. This position requires a strong understanding of food handling and safety practices, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Requirements Experience in Mexican Cuisine a plus A current Municipality of Anchorage Food Workers Card Excellent communication and organization skills Must be available to work mornings and on weekends Preparing a variety of food Able to lift 50+ lbs Able to work well during busy rushes, high pressure, and prepare things quickly Able to take criticism and direction from kitchen manager or leads Following standard portion sizes, cooking methods, recipes, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures. Stocking and maintaining sufficient levels of food products at line stations Portioning food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications. Maintaining a clean and sanitary workstation. Handling, storing and rotating all products properly. Opening and closing the kitchen properly if needed Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately. Familiarity with culinary techniques and equipment used in the kitchen is advantageous. A passion for the food industry and commitment to delivering high-quality meals is essential.
