The Psychological Services Provider II provides school-based mental health services, coordination of services, and case management of students. They may also provide educational consultation services to school staff, community agencies, and the public. In addition, a PSP II, when needed and if qualified, may provide supervision and training to PSP Is and trainees responsible for delivering mental health services to students enrolled in GUSD schools. In a supervisory role, PSP IIs ensure that PSP Is and trainees provide high-quality care in accordance with the ethical guidelines and in compliance with all laws and regulations governing the practice of clinical social work, marriage and family therapy, and professional clinical counseling.
CURRENT VACANCY
At least two (2) permanent positions (10 months per year, 8 hours per day) in the Student Wellness Services and/or Special Education Department. Positions includes full district-paid benefits for the employee and dependents. Maximum District health and welfare contributions total up to $34,732.44 per year.

- Provides counseling services, case management and other related mental health services to identified general education students through individual and/or group counseling; conducts parent intakes; develops treatment plans along with appropriate social/emotional goals for counseling services; maintains documentation in accordance with the state laws and professional standards; monitors student progress and refers students to other community agencies, as appropriate.
- Provides mental health counseling services related to students' Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals in accordance with applicable professional licensing laws to students with disabilities inclusive of: coordination of services and/or case management; delivery of educational consultation services; collaboration with community agencies, and the public.
- Prepares and completes all required documentation and reports for students including LEA Medi-Cal billing logs for all appropriate services.
- Offers evidence-based Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons in schools as needed.
- Offers R estorative Justice Circles to build and strengthen relationships and communities as needed.
- Participates in a variety of meetings, including Student Study Team (SST) meetings, Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, 504 meetings and other meetings when appropriate.
- Provides training and workshops for parents, community agencies, students, school staff as needed on topics that include mental health, trauma awareness, social skills, conflict mediation, grief, drug prevention, and other social emotional issues that impact learning and overall wellness.
- Provides supervision to designated staff, ensuring that mental health services consistently adhere to the required standard of care; reviews student records and counseling case notes, monitors and evaluates intakes and interventions.
- Conducts and supervises risk/threat assessments and takes necessary steps to ensure safety and well-being of all involved.
- Engages in continuous research to ensure the team remains at the forefront of emerging research and best practices to contribute to the development and/or improvement of innovative counseling interventions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
- Masters or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, School Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field in behavioral sciences.
License and Credential:
- Must possess a current and active license in good standing in one of the following: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Licensed Professional Clinical Counseling (LPCC) Licensed Psychologist (LP)
- Must possess a valid Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential specializing in school counseling or school social work.
- A valid California Class C driver license with a valid auto liability insurance coverage in compliance with the state minimum coverage requirements.
- A valid First Aid and CPR certificate or possession of First Aid and CPR certification within thirty (30) days of date of hire. If supervising, PSP II will work for 11 months per year and in addition to the education requirements listed above must:
- Have been licensed for at least two (2) years out of the last five (5) years.
- Must complete a minimum of 15 hours of supervision training that meets the course provider and course content requirements specified in regulation within 60 days of the commencement of supervision.
Six hours of continuing professional development (CPD) in supervision is required each renewal cycle thereafter.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Strong background in case management, coordinating services and resources for students and their families.
- Knowledge of district policies such as child abuse reporting, suicide prevention, intervention and postvention, threat assessments, etc.
- Experience working within a school environment, understanding the dynamics of a school community.
- Written and oral proficiency in a second language.

Probationary Period :
130 days of paid service. After an offer of employment , a candidate must submit proof of freedom from tuberculosis.
