Clinical Director About Us Tucked into the rolling hills of Healdsburg, we are a small-census, high-touch residential treatment program for adults recovering from substance use disorders. We pair cutting-edge, evidence-based clinical care; including CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, EMDR, and trauma-informed treatment with an experiential model that treats the whole person, not just the diagnosis. The Role As a Primary Therapist, you carry a caseload and lead the clinical care of clients moving through our DHCS-licensed detox and residential program. You provide evidence-based psychotherapy, thorough assessment, family work, and crisis intervention — guiding clients through some of the most pivotal moments of their recovery. This is a role built for a licensed clinician who wants the time and small census to do deep, meaningful work rather than high-volume throughput. You will work closely with our medical, nursing, and counseling teams to deliver coordinated, individualized care in a setting designed around the whole person. What You Will Do Conduct biopsychosocial intakes, clinical assessments, and diagnostic evaluations (DSM-5-TR) to determine each client's treatment needs. Provide individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based modalities, including CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed care. Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the client and the multidisciplinary team. Deliver crisis intervention and safety planning during acute episodes, coordinating closely with medical and nursing staff. Provide addiction-focused counseling and relapse-prevention planning aligned with each client's recovery goals. Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation — progress notes, assessments, and treatment plans — in compliance with DHCS, Title 9 (CCR), HIPAA, and 42 CFR Part 2. Coordinate care with psychiatry, nursing, counselors, and case management, and contribute to discharge and continuing-care planning, including connection to community and aftercare resources. Participate in treatment team meetings and contribute to outcome monitoring and ongoing quality improvement. Qualifications and DHCS Requirements Required Active California licensure in good standing with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as an LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC. Registered associates (AMFT, ASW, or APCC) providing services under approved, BBS-qualified clinical supervision may also be considered. Experience providing psychotherapy in detox, residential, behavioral health, or hospital settings, with a focus on addiction and co-occurring disorders. Demonstrated skill in assessment and diagnostic evaluation (DSM-5-TR / ICD-10), individual, group, and family therapy, and crisis intervention. Knowledge of and adherence to DHCS and Title 9 (CCR) regulations and to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality requirements. Current CPR / First Aid (BLS) certification, or willingness to obtain prior to start. Negative TB test and successful DOJ Live Scan background clearance. Valid California driver's license. Recent ASAM 4 training. Strongly Preferred Specialized training in trauma-informed modalities such as EMDR or DBT. Experience treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders (for example, PTSD, mood, and anxiety disorders alongside SUD). Familiarity with utilization review, medical records management, and documentation standards; ICD-10 coding experience is a plus.

AOD / SUD
