We are seeking an experienced, licensed behavioral health clinician to join our team at the Long Beach Community Care Campus. This is a full-time, on-site position serving individuals in a Recuperative Care setting. The clinician will provide behavioral health assessments, clinical interventions, brief counseling, crisis intervention, psychoeducation, and mental health and substance use support to individuals with complex behavioral health, medical, housing, and social needs. The ideal candidate is clinically skilled, collaborative, adaptable, and committed to providing trauma-informed, person-centered care to individuals experiencing significant barriers to health and stability. Depending on qualifications and program needs, the position may also include clinical supervision of pre-licensed associate clinicians, as well as participation in program development, quality improvement, clinical consultation, training, and other initiatives supporting the delivery of high-quality behavioral health services. The position requires compliance with applicable ethical standards, professional requirements, organizational policies, and federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities Provide direct behavioral health services to clients in a Recuperative Care setting. Conduct behavioral health and psychosocial assessments and formulate clinical diagnoses within the scope of the clinician's license and applicable regulations. Develop appropriate treatment goals and provide individualized clinical interventions. Provide brief, solution-focused, and evidence-based counseling and psychotherapy, crisis intervention, behavioral health psychoeducation, and mental health and substance use interventions. Develop and facilitate skill-building, relapse prevention, process, psychoeducational, and other clinically appropriate groups. Coordinate care and communicate effectively with outside clinical teams, including County Behavioral Health, partner organizations, and contracted providers. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address behavioral health, medical, housing, and social determinants of health needs. Provide clinical consultation, education, and support to licensed, pre-licensed, and non-clinical team members within the scope of the clinician's role. Maintain timely, accurate, and complete clinical documentation in accordance with applicable requirements and organizational standards. Submit timely and accurate claims for billable services, when applicable. Participate in case consultation, clinical supervision, quality improvement, and team meetings. Depending on qualifications and program needs, provide clinical supervision to pre-licensed associate clinicians in accordance with applicable California requirements. Perform other related duties consistent with the position and organizational needs. Qualifications Current, active California license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). Master's degree or higher in a field appropriate to the applicable California professional license. Experience providing behavioral health services to individuals with complex needs. Experience working with populations experiencing homelessness, serious mental health conditions, substance use, co-occurring conditions, and/or complex medical needs is strongly preferred. Knowledge of trauma-informed care, behavioral health assessment, crisis intervention, and risk assessment. Strong clinical judgment and crisis de-escalation skills. Experience with evidence-based behavioral health interventions and recovery-oriented approaches. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in electronic health record or client care systems. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including individuals with limited English proficiency and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Commitment to providing compassionate, culturally responsive, and person-centered behavioral health services. Ability to participate in individual and/or group clinical consultation and supervision. Clinical supervision experience is preferred for candidates who will be considered for supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This is an on-site position at the Long Beach Community Care Campus . The role involves regular interaction with individuals experiencing complex behavioral health, medical, housing, and social needs and may involve crisis response and de-escalation.
