Position:
Provides support and services designed to ensure effective, quality case management for children and their families involved with the Health Services Agency. Serves as an advocate for clients in various daily living situations. Handles routine case management services. The primary responsibility is to serve mothers and families of children ages 0-5 who are at risk of adverse childhood experiences. The Family Support Worker will manage long term voluntary case plans as well as help families identify strengths, develop a strong parent/child bond, set and meet goals, and develop parenting skills. Meets with families and consults with service providers on a regular basis to ensure the proper implementation of case management plans and to monitor case progress. Assists families with goal setting and supports the families in meeting those goals. Conducts development screenings for assigned children as needed. Refers families to and/or coordinates care plans with other private or public mental health and medical service providers and support programs as appropriate.
Bilingual Candidates:
Translates, interprets and otherwise communicates with members of the Spanish speaking community. Click here to view the full classification specification. Equivalent to the completion of twelfth (12th) grade and three (3) years of experience working with families and children providing family centered and strength based services preferably in a home visiting environment. OR Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's Degree in a health or social services related field and two (2) years of experience working with families and children providing family centered and strength based services preferably in a home visiting environment. OR Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in a health or social services related field and one (1) year experience working with families and children providing family centered and strength based services preferably in a home visiting environment. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
LICENSE & SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
:
  • Requires a valid California driver's license.
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain a National Provider Identifier (NPI).
Bilingual Candidates:
  • Must pass a Merit Systems Services written and/or oral bilingual proficiency test (or other appropriate test selected by the County) to qualify.
The department is currently recruiting to fill one (1) vacancy. In addition, Tehama County is establishing an eligibility list to fill future full-time vacancies for a Family Support Worker or Family Support Worker Bilingual, as well as subsequent vacancies which occur during the life of the eligibility list. Bilingual Incentive! Bilingual Incentive pay is +7.5% above the Family Support Worker salary.

  • Monday, June 8, 2026 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. 2nd
  • Monday, June 15, 2026 from 11:00am to 12:00pm.
  • Only the most qualified candidates will be invited to interview.
New employees should anticipate being hired at the beginning step of the salary range. Candidates who exceed entry level qualifications may be considered, with approval from the Board of Supervisors, for placement at other than A step.
