: Licensed Staff Counselor (Temporary)POSITION SUMMARY
We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time temporary (5-month) Licensed Staff Counselor to provide counseling, assessment, and consultation to students, scientific and support staff, Scripps Research in La Jolla, California, home to some of the world's most renowned scientists. This position will also have the opportunity to showcase their presentation delivery skills by providing in-house presentations. The duration of the position will be from October 1, 2026-February 26, 2027, and the required on-site hours are 25 hours/week.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Provides individual counseling to students, faculty and staff; provides assessments and referrals as needed. Facilitates support groups (i.e. "Students and Scholars" support group). Creativity and responsiveness to the support needs of this community are encouraged in the development of groups. Develops and implements new and relevant on-site presentations (i.e. "Lunch and Learns"). Offers specialty expertise in work with a diverse and inclusive campus community. Helps to manage occasional campus crises in collaboration with department heads and campus partners. Manages counseling records including scheduling, intake, and progress notes and correspondence as needed. Works with administrative assistant to complete outreach tasks (such as development of flyers, brochures, etc). Details of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process.REQUIREMENTS
