What You Will Do to Change Lives Peer Support Specialists engage, inspire, and facilitate meaningful conversations with members served that assist the person to explore, create, and meet their own recovery goals. Peer Support Specialists provide consultation to the team to promote and reinforce Telecare's Recovery Culture as defined by the Telecare Recovery Centered Clinical System (RCCS), in which each member's point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected, and integrated into services and self-help programming. Additionally, Peer Support Specialists respond to critical situations with high level engagement and de-escalation skills which support a least restrictive environment for individuals experiencing an emergency related to a mental health/addiction challenge.

Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification through CalMHSA must be obtained within 120 days of your date of hire and maintained throughout employment. Failure to obtain certification within this period will result in separation with the company. Experience as a beneficiary of the Behavioral Health system of care Valid and current driver's license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver. Serenity House is a 13 bed, short-term intensive Crisis Residential Treatment (CRT) program serving adult residents of San Mateo County who are experiencing a mental health crisis. The program will operate 24-hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Clients may be referred from the hospital, jail, community, or self-referred. The goal of the program is to help clients experiencing acute psychiatric distress avoid inpatient hospitalization and emergency services; regain their stability; and begin working toward longer-term recovery goals.
