ASSOCIATE THERAPIST - JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision and direction of the Director, employees will provide treatment in an outpatient Mental Health Program to adult and adolescent clients. Supervision is provided by licensed clinicians, such as LMFTs, LCSWs, and Clinical Psychologists. As this position primarily includes conducting diagnostic interviews and assessments, direct and indirect client hours are obtained and can be applied toward licensure.
SCHEDULE
Monday to Saturday, 8 am to 9 pm.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintain and update clinical records. Establishing relationships with clients Promoting and supporting their clients' mental health Maintaining detailed and accurate records of each session with a client Creating treatment plans for each individual in their care Conducting assessments of each client's progress Working with clients' families to help them offer the most appropriate support Maintaining a working knowledge of the latest therapeutic techniques Making referrals to other agencies or health professionals
QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree completed from an accredited school in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or Mental Health Counseling. Valid Associate Licensure by California State Board of Behavioral Sciences Must have excellent engagement, interpersonal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively. Ability to utilize proper judgment and work independently.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical Activity - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met. Working Hazards or Risks - potential for musculoskeletal injuries related to moving and working with files and office equipment.
