Job Description
Job Overview Real Care, Inc. is seeking a dependable and compassionate In‑Home Respite Provider to support adults receiving services under Colorado's HCBS‑DD Waiver . This role provides scheduled respite in the client's home, including overnight supervision , to ensure safety, stability, and continuity of care while giving families and primary caregivers essential relief. Respite Providers with Real Care, Inc. support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), including individuals with high medical needs, behavioral support needs, or autism spectrum disorder. This is a paid, person‑centered role ideal for caregivers, DSPs, CNAs, and other professionals experienced in providing compassionate, individualized support within DD Waiver services. Duties Provide supervision, safety monitoring, and support in alignment with the client's DD Waiver Service Plan Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) when authorized (e.g., hygiene, dressing, mobility) Support communication needs, daily routines, and behavioral strategies using person‑centered approaches Provide overnight presence to ensure safety, respond to needs, and follow individualized nighttime protocols Prepare simple meals or snacks and support hydration as outlined in the care plan Complete only those health‑related tasks permitted under DD Waiver rules (no skilled nursing tasks unless certified and authorized) Safely operate assistive equipment such as Hoyer lifts , gait belts, or transfer devices Document respite services accurately and maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and DD Waiver standards Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow all safety protocols Communicate promptly with families, case managers, and agency staff regarding concerns or changes in condition. Skills & Qualifications Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in home, community, group home, or day‑program settings Knowledge of person‑centered practices, behavioral supports, and safety planning Ability to follow a Service Plan , ISP, or behavior support plan
Required:
CPR/First Aid, HIPAA compliancePreferred:
CNA, QMAP, CPI/NCI, dementia‑care training, or prior DD Waiver experience Ability to perform safe lifting and transfers using proper techniques or assistive devices Strong communication skills and ability to work independently during overnight shifts Reliability, professionalism, and comfort working in a private home environment Why Join Real Care, Inc.
