Behavioral Counselor Position Summary The behavioral counselor is a member of an interdisciplinary team of professionals staffing the middle/senior high school wellness center. The team also includes a nurse practitioner/center coordinator, a registered dietitian, an administrative assistant, and a collaborating physician. Patients may be seen in-person or via telehealth. The behavioral counselor will work with a pre-teen and adolescent population, providing behavioral risk assessments, individual and/or group counseling, and crisis intervention with referrals to community resources when additional care is deemed appropriate. They will work as a team member with other Wellness Center staff to provide a holistic approach to care for students and their families in the center. Behavioral Counselor Position Requirements Licensed or eligible for Delaware licensure as clinical social worker (LCSW) or professional counselor of mental health (LPCMH) required. Minimum of 1 year of clinical counseling, preferably including adolescent experience. Behavioral Counselor Work Schedule Four working days each week between Monday-Friday Work schedule follows the school calendar, i.e. Holidays, in-service days, and Professional Development days Enjoy summer vacations off as a 10-month employee
