Overview Join our dedicated mental health team as a Part-Time Counselor, where you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, evidence-based behavioral health and mental health care to diverse populations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in clients' lives through personalized therapy and crisis intervention. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to clinical standards. Duties Conduct thorough client assessments to determine mental health needs, including diagnostic evaluations aligned with DSM-5 criteria. Provide individual and group counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and behavioral therapy techniques. Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage acute mental health episodes and ensure client safety. Facilitate child and family counseling sessions, addressing behavioral issues, trauma, or co-occurring disorders such as substance use disorders. Document all clinical interactions accurately and comprehensively in electronic health records (EHR) following HIPAA guidelines and medical documentation standards. Collaborate with healthcare providers, social workers, and community agencies to coordinate patient care plans and support services. Experience Proven experience working with individuals facing mental health challenges, including trauma, PTSD, addiction medicine, or co-occurring disorders. Demonstrated expertise in psychotherapy modalities such as motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), and group therapy. Strong background in crisis management, crisis intervention, client assessment in therapy, and case management within behavioral health settings. Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/EHR management). Experience working with diverse cultural backgrounds and delivering culturally competent care. Familiarity with mental health diagnostic tools like DSM-5 and ICD coding systems for accurate clinical documentation. Ability to work effectively within HIPAA regulations while maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to clinical documentation standards. Must have a Masters Degree in counseling or social work, eligible or currently a Registered Intern preferred.
