Galen Hope in Coral Gables, FL is hiring a Primary Therapist . The mission of Galen Hope is to profoundly impact the lives of those who experience mental health conditions. We treat primary mental health and primary eating disorder diagnoses at the residential level of care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient program. Clients receive comprehensive and sophisticated care, delivered within a multidisciplinary team. Primary Therapists are expected to work in person and carry a caseload of approximately 5-7 clients which is an equivalent of 15 hours of individual therapy plus additional clinical responsibilities. Additional responsibilities include weekly parent coaching, speaking with referring clinicians, treatment coordination with other members of the Galen Hope staff, documentation, weekly group psychotherapy, attendance at meetings to review cases, and attendance at weekly treatment teams meetings with your client. Individuals who are successful in this position are highly organized, effective communicators, have ease with technology, and have the clinical experience to anticipate clinical concerns in advance. Salary for this position is commensurate with training and years of experience. Please note that candidates who recently graduated with their master's degree will be considered for this job but will be eligible for the lowest end of our salary range unless you can demonstrate significant and relevant clinical experience outside of your graduate program. The Primary Purpose and Function Under the direction of the Clinical Director, the primary therapist performs job duties that include psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, parent coaching, initial psycho-social assessments, emergency call, treatment planning and discharge planning for behavioral health patients as part of an comprehensive mental health treatment center including Residential, PHP and IOP. The therapist is responsible for attending all staff and treatment team meetings and managing care of an active caseload and/or performing group therapy under the direction of licensed personnel. All other job duties as assigned by Clinical Director of the program. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Under the direction of the Clinical Director, the therapist will perform all job duties assigned by clinical director including psychotherapy, family therapy, group therapy, documentation, and parent coaching The therapist reports directly to the Clinical Director Work closely with leadership and facility employees to coordinate operations in a way that supports business goals and client needs. Fully understand and maintain policies regarding professional ethics, including appropriate boundaries and patient confidentiality, monitor documents according to company and HIPAA policies. Professionally, ethically, and compassionately relates to clients, families, referral sources and staff always. Provide weekly updates to referring clinicians either in writing or on the phone. Minimum Qualifications Fully licensed in Mental Health Counseling preferred or Social Work Post-doctoral resident (pre-licensure Clinical Psychologist who has completed their internship and needs hours for licensure) Experience in Mental Health Treatment. Interest or experience in working with clients with Eating Disorders and other complex mental health presentations Experience with crisis management and de-escalation techniques. Comprehensive management and organizational leadership skills required. Computer typing skills and ability use various software programs. Ability to delegate and supervise tasks as required Knowledge of clinical procedures related to day-to-day management of cases and emergencies. Specific, required, current, and active licensure, registration, or certification must be maintained in good standing. Ability to take phone calls in the hours not at the center to answer questions or assist with emergencies.
