Job Description
Lutheran Services Florida is seeking a compassionate Youth Advocate to support at-risk youth through mentoring, case support, and advocacy. In this part-time role, you will build trusting relationships, assist with goal setting, and connect youth to community resources, education, and behavioral health services. You will help ensure safety, monitor progress, document interactions, and collaborate with families, schools, and LSF teams. The ideal candidate is patient, reliable, culturally sensitive, and passionate about empowering young people to overcome challenges and achieve stability and hope. Responsibilities Provide mentoring and advocacy to at-risk youth Build trusting, supportive relationships with youth and families Assist youth with goal setting, life skills, and educational support Connect youth to appropriate community and behavioral health resources Monitor youth safety and well-being and report concerns as needed Document contacts, services, and progress accurately and timely Collaborate with families, schools, and community partners Support crisis intervention and de-escalation when required Participate in team meetings and ongoing training Promote LSF's mission, values, and ethical standards in all work Required Skills Case documentation Crisis intervention Youth mentoring Behavioral health awareness Community resource navigation Basic computer and data entry Safety and risk assessment Communication skills Cultural competence Time management
