Mental Health Facility Position Summary:
The Primary Therapist will provide comprehensive mental health services to individuals, families, and groups. This role involves delivering therapy, conducting assessments, and developing treatment plans in a compassionate, professional, and effective manner. The Primary Therapist will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care and optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Assessment and Diagnosis:
Conduct thorough psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations. Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations. Utilize evidence-based assessment tools and techniques.
Therapeutic Services:
Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions. Apply evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Facilitate crisis intervention and stabilization as required.
Case Management:
Coordinate patient care with other healthcare providers, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers. Maintain detailed and accurate clinical documentation. Advocate for patient needs and assist with accessing community resources and support services.
Collaboration and Consultation:
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences. Provide consultation and training to other staff members as needed. Engage in continuous professional development and stay current with best practices in the field.
Compliance and Ethical Practice:
Adhere to all legal, ethical, and professional standards, including HIPAA regulations. Ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and accreditation standards. Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities.
Qualifications:
Education and Licensure:
Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field. Current state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Psychologist.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a mental health setting. Experience providing therapy in individual, group, and family settings. Experience with a diverse client population, including individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong diagnostic and clinical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Strong organizational and time management skills.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position with a standard workweek. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required. Work is performed in a clinical office setting.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for extended periods. Ability to use standard office equipment, including a computer. Ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone.
