Job Title:
Behavioral Health Specialist (Florida PACE Centers) Job Summary To provide behavior health services to adults and/or families within the PACE program via participant screening, assessment/evaluation, counseling and referral/recommendation for appropriate treatment for disposition. Primary services will include assisting with Crisis Intervention and serve as a Sitter for patients with behavioral health needs. Will provide one to one observation/for assigned patients under the direction of clinical leadership. Essential Job Functions Provides assessment, treatment planning, counseling, and education services for participants and caregiversCompletes psychosocial evaluations to ascertain patient's psychological, emotional needs. Identifies and refers patients to appropriate discipline for appropriate careConducts evidence-based group therapy to patients to address psychological, emotional needsPrepares individualized treatment plans Updates and discusses patient needs in Multidisciplinary treatment team meetings (IDT)Initiates Baker Acts if needed. Ensures that all legal paperwork is obtained, processed and completed, and included in patient charts. (i.e. guardianship, baker-act, firearm laws) Provides quality care by possessing knowledge and skill level related to the symptoms and treatment of behavioral disorders relevant to participant and in accordance with the state agency regulations. Possess knowledge to identify types of medications commonly prescribed for patient group and the common side effects and adverse reactions of the medications
Job Requirements Education:
Master's degree in
Psychology or Clinical Social Work or Clinical Mental Health Counseling Experience:
2 years of experience working with adults with mental health and/or substance abuse disorders
Licenses/Certifications:
Current Florida State Licensure as a Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, Clinical Mental Health Counselor, or Marriage and Family Therapist Abilities Required Skills in assessment and psychotherapyBi-lingual English and Spanish preferredRequires critical thinking skillsExercise proper and independent judgement The ability to work with minimal supervisionMust be able to work in a stressful environment and manage crisis as needed
