Job Description

Substance Abuse facility seeking a full-time experienced clinician to join our team. The Primary Therapist is responsible for performing a variety of client care activities as directed by the Clinical Director.
Responsibilities include:
Providing compassionate care to a full caseload, which includes individual, group and family therapy. Provide assessments of the patient's emotional, physical, and mental presentations, including homicidal, suicidal, and self-harm risk assessments. Provide appropriate group therapy to adults suffering from substance abuse and dependence, process and behavioral addictions, anxiety, depression, and anger issues to encourage patients to process their feelings and thoughts to develop insights on themselves. Educate and assist patients in developing coping skills and interventions to utilize to deal with their problems. Conduct weekly progress notes. Develop Treatment Plans, and will assist in coordinating discharge planning. Assist patients in developing individualized aftercare plans. Complete ASAM Forms (admission, continued stay, transfers and Discharge) for each level of care. Documenting Criteria. Participate effectively in multidisciplinary treatment plan reviews, demonstrating adequate preparation and understanding of patient issues, progress, areas of resistance, positive and negative strategies, etc. Utilize experiential techniques effectively and create atmosphere in which self-disclosure is facilitated. Complete clinical documentation to include general and/or daily DAP notes in a timely manner. Maintain regular contact and open communication with families.
Qualifications include:
Qualifications and Requirements:
•Requires a Master's Degree in field of Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or a related human services field LMHC, or LSCW, Registered Mental Health Counseling (RMHCI), or Registered Clinical Social Work Intern (RCSWI) preferred. Have at least two years' experience with substance abuse/dual diagnoses. Possess passion and compassion for client care. Three to Five Years of work experience in substance abuse and mental health field, preferred. Familiarity with DCF and Joint Commission requirements. Knowledge of principles and practices of the discipline.
