Job Summary:

The Therapist provides assessment, treatment planning, and individual, couples, family and group counseling to clients through the use of a variety of therapeutic interventions with the goal of promoting mental health, recovery and wellness

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive assessment and treatment planning as appropriate to the clinical setting.
• Provide individual, couples, family and group counseling as appropriate to the clinical setting.
• Ensure treatment is individualized, appropriate and culturally competent.
• Ensure all clinical duties are performed confidentially, ethically and in accordance with state, federal, agency and licensing requirements.
• Ensure clinical documentation is maintained confidentially, accurately and in accordance with state, federal, agency and licensing requirements.
• Maintain billing records that are accurate and up-to-date on a daily basis.
• Participate in team meetings', staffing's and case presentations as deemed appropriate.
• Facilitate referrals to community resources and ensure proper documentation.
• Acts as a linkage between the agency and community partners.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• A Bachelors Degree in behavioral health, human service or related field is required.
• Two years relevant experience preferred.
• Experience in social service environment preferred.
• A valid Florida driver's license and a good driving record are required.
• Must have CFAR or FAR certification in order to bill for assessment services.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Must have knowledgeable of 65D-30 standards.
• Must have the ability to counsel clients.
• A valid Florida driver's license and a good driving record are required. Must be able to provide own transportation.
• Must be eligible for Level 2 DCF Background Screening approval. Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Computer competency required.
• Must possess excellent organizational skills.
• Must have the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
• Experience in a social service environment is preferred.
• Ability to interact with people from diverse cultural, economic and ethnic backgrounds.

Ability to set appropriate boundaries and limits with clients.
