Job Description

A Behavioral Health Counselor, with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology or Social Science, is needed for our mental health day program to work with intellectually disabled individuals. We currently have a full time position available with the potential for future growth within the organization. This is a great entry-level position for someone just starting their career in mental health, counseling, or psychology. Creating and implementing fun learning plans in a classroom setting. Facilitating participation in group activities that promotes independence and addresses issues from individualized treatment plans. Implement behavioral plans designed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst Timely and accurate completion of documentation on a daily basis. Providing direct care, supervision and assistance to all individuals within the mental health program. Ability to physically restrain adults and follow behavior plans (once trained) Ability to work as part of a collaborative team Flexibility to adjust to the multifaceted daily needs of the program is a must!
General Requirements:
This role is perfect for compassionate individuals who excel in a caregiving environment and have experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, childhood education, mental health, psychology, or social work. Must have a BA/BS in Social Science or Certified Behavioral Health Technician as defined by the Florida Certification Board Knowledge of mental health disorders are beneficial Must be able to pass a Level 2 background check anda drug screen Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
