Work Environment As a Senior LMHC, you will primarily work remotely, providing flexibility that supports work-life balance. The position entails collaborating with a multi-disciplinary healthcare team in our outpatient office environment to deliver exceptional counseling services. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for geriatric clients to identify their psychological, emotional, and social needs, ensuring personalized care plans. Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on issues such as grief, life transitions, depression, and anxiety associated with aging. Work collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and social workers to develop and implement holistic care plans aimed at improving patient health outcomes. Guide families and caregivers in understanding the emotional needs of elderly residents, providing education on effective communication and support strategies. Deliver specialized grief and loss counseling for residents and their families, helping them navigate difficult end-of-life experiences. Design and implement cognitive stimulation activities to maintain and enhance mental acuity among elderly clients. Document treatment plans and client progress according to ethical and legal standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems. Patient Population / Client Focus Your primary focus will be on elderly individuals facing a range of mental health issues, including those resulting from age-related transitions, chronic illness, or significant life changes. This role requires a deep understanding of the complex emotional landscape faced by senior clients, necessitating a compassionate and insightful approach to counseling. Qualifications A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution. Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential. A minimum of four years of hands-on experience providing mental health counseling to elderly clients. Specialized training or certificates in geriatric mental health and aging-related issues are highly desirable. Proficient understanding of evidence-based interventions that effectively address the mental health needs of older adults. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to connect with elderly clients and their families. Strong sense of empathy and cultural sensitivity, essential for supporting a diverse population of elderly individuals. Deep knowledge of legal and ethical frameworks guiding geriatric counseling practices. Preferred Experience Prior experience in managing mental health crises within a geriatric population. Proficiency in therapeutic methodologies, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), tailored for seniors. Experience utilizing therapy management software and tools to track patient progress effectively. Compensation and Benefits This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from
USD 65,000
