Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Peer Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in providing support and guidance to individuals navigating their recovery journey from mental health and substance use challenges. The Certified Peer Specialist will utilize their lived experience using Medicated Assisted Recovery to foster hope, promote recovery, and empower clients to achieve their personal goals. Duties Collaborate with hospitals, urgent cares, jails and prisons to develop amemorandum of understanding. Provide one-on-one support to clients, sharing personal experiences to inspire hope and resilience. Assist clients in navigating community resources and services related to mental health and addiction. Offer crisis intervention support, helping clients manage acute situations effectively. Mentor clients in developing self-advocacy skills and enhancing their social networks. Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress in compliance with organizational policies. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills. Skills The ideal candidate will possess the following skills: Proficiency in addiction counseling techniques and principles. Strong capabilities in crisis intervention and crisis management . Experience in mental health counseling practices. Effective mentoring abilities to guide clients through their recovery journey. Knowledge of social work systems and resources available for clients. Understanding of behavioral health concepts and practices. Familiarity with motivational interviewing techniques to encourage client engagement.
