Who We Are Illinois Coalition for Community Services (ICCS) is a nonprofit organization who exist to empower youth, families and communities in Illinois through education, advocacy and grassroots organizing. Overview ICCS is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Full-Time Crisis Counselor to join our CCBYS team in Southern Illinois (Perry, Jackson, Franklin, Williamson County). The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mental health and crisis management, providing immediate support to youth experiencing emotional distress. About the CCBYS Program The CCBYS (Comprehensive Community Based Youth Services) program is a state-funded crisis intervention program designed to serve youth ages 11-17 who are experiencing family conflict, are at risk of involvement with the child welfare or juvenile justice systems or are in crisis situations.

CCBYS provides:

• 24/7 crisis response and intervention
• Family mediation and conflict resolution
• Case management and service coordination
• Stabilization services aimed at keeping youth safely in their homes whenever possible Duties Provide immediate crisis intervention and support to individuals in distress.

Conduct assessments to determine the needs of clients and develop appropriate intervention strategies. Offer support and resources for families and youth. Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and treatment plans in accordance with organizational policies. Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure there is crisis phone coverage at all times which includes answering a 24/7 crisis hotline in a two-week rotation with other full-time staff. Support program development, implementation, and evaluation aligned with funding requirements Participate in community and regional networks to strengthen services for youth and families Skills Strong knowledge of crisis management techniques and mental health counseling practices. Experience working with children, primarily ages 11-17. Excellent communication skills, with an empathetic approach to client interactions. Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to remain calm under pressure. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred. Applicants must pass a DCFS background check. Although this position is listed as remote, applicants must live in or near one of the following Illinois counties and be able to travel throughout the service area when responding to crisis calls: Perry, Jackson, Franklin, and Williamson Excellent communication skills, reliability, and timeliness are required. Additional compensation provided through Mileage and hourly crisis pay ($25-30)
