Job Description

Weekend Counselor - Women's Transitional/Recovery Home (Part-Time) Libertyville, IL Saturday & Sunday 9am-5pm Make a direct, meaningful impact in the lives of women and children working toward stability, recovery, and independence. Provide support to those who need it the most. We are a small residential program seeking a compassionate, organized, reliable Counselor to help lead weekend operations in our transitional/recovery home. This is an ideal role for someone who is empathetic and able to set clear boundaries in a structured, supportive environment. What You'll Do Provide emotional support, guidance, and care to 10 residents Oversee all weekend operations in a residential setting Ensure safety of residents and upkeep of home Conduct regular check-ins and respond to overnight needs and emergencies Complete case notes, incident reports, and other documentation Maintain structure by enforcing program rules and expectations Build respectful, trust-based relationships with residents Schedule Part-time schedule (2 shifts/week; occasional additional shifts possible:
Saturday:
9:00 AM - 5:00
PM Sunday:
9:00 M - 5:00 PM What We're Looking For Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to build strong relationships while maintaining professional boundaries Comfortable with computers and documentation Experience in mental health, substance use recovery, domestic violence, or homeless services (preferred) Background in social work, psychology, or related field (preferred) Criminal and DCFS background checks and drug testing required Bachelor's degree (preferred) Why This Role Matters You'll be a steady, trusted presence during the weekends—helping create a safe, calm, and structured environment where women can continue their recovery and move toward independence.
