Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Addiction Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mental health and addiction counseling, with the ability to provide support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. This role involves working collaboratively with clients to develop personalized treatment plans, facilitate group therapy sessions, and conduct individual counseling sessions. The Addiction Counselor will play a crucial role in helping clients achieve recovery and improve their overall well-being.
Required Licensure:
Candidate must hold a
CADAC I, CADAC
II, LAC, or LCAC, or equivalent to be considered for position. Responsibilities Must be willing to work some evenings. Conduct comprehensive assessments and intake evaluations for clients seeking addiction treatment. Develop individualized treatment plans based on client needs, incorporating evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. Facilitate both individual and group counseling sessions, focusing on behavioral therapy techniques and crisis intervention strategies. Provide crisis management support to clients in distress, ensuring a safe environment for recovery. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, including social workers, medical professionals, and community resources. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Engage in ongoing research and data collection to enhance treatment methodologies and outcomes. Monitor client progress through regular assessments and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Educate clients and their families about addiction, recovery processes, and available resources for support. Must be able to work some evenings Experience Candidates should possess the following skills and experience: Proven experience in addiction counseling or related fields such as behavioral health or mental health counseling. Proficiency in psychotherapy techniques, including crisis intervention, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Experience in child & family counseling is a plus, along with home & community care experience or hospital experience. Strong skills in case management, patient assessment, diagnostic evaluation, group therapy facilitation, and behavior management strategies. Knowledge of PTSD care practices is highly desirable.
