We are looking for a counselor who deeply cares about clients, the community, and the quality of care they provide. The ideal candidate is clinically skilled, dependable, ethical, and committed to helping people create meaningful change in their lives. This is a part-time W-2 position providing individual psychotherapy services to a diverse population of children, adolescents, and adults. The counselor will help clients navigate mental health challenges, strengthen coping skills, improve relationships, process difficult experiences, and work toward personal growth through evidence-based and innovative therapeutic approaches. Position Details Part-time W-2 employment 20 paid hours per week $30 per hour Gradual caseload-building period Guaranteed pay for the established 20-hour weekly schedule during the caseload-building period Worth Counseling Group is responsible for marketing the practice, generating referrals, and building the counselor's caseload In-person services at Worth Counseling Group in Lafayette, Louisiana, with telehealth services provided when clinically appropriate Supportive and collaborative private-practice environment Primary Responsibilities Provide individual psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds. Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations. Formulate accurate clinical diagnoses using the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition, Text Revision (DSM-5-TR). Develop individualized, measurable, and clinically appropriate treatment plans based on each client's needs, strengths, goals, and presenting concerns. Use evidence-based, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and developmentally appropriate therapeutic interventions. Help clients develop coping strategies, strengthen emotional regulation, improve relationships, and make meaningful progress toward their treatment goals. Regularly evaluate client progress and modify treatment plans and interventions as clinically indicated. Assess for suicide risk, self-harm, abuse, neglect, and other safety concerns. Provide appropriate crisis intervention, safety planning, referrals, and coordination of care when necessary. Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically sound documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other required records. Complete documentation and administrative responsibilities within established practice timelines. Adhere to HIPAA requirements, professional ethical standards, Louisiana laws and regulations, practice policies, and applicable insurance requirements. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and protect client confidentiality. Coordinate care with physicians, schools, family members, and other professionals when clinically appropriate and properly authorized. Participate in staff meetings, case consultations, training, and other practice-related responsibilities within scheduled paid hours. Maintain an accurate and up-to-date schedule and client calendar in the practice's electronic health record system. Respond appropriately and professionally to client communication in accordance with practice policies. Maintain all required licenses, continuing education, professional liability insurance, and credentialing documentation. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in counseling or a closely related behavioral health field from an accredited program. Current, unrestricted Louisiana Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license. Current credentialing or eligibility to become credentialed with the insurance plans accepted by Worth Counseling Group. Clinical experience providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, or a combination of these populations. Knowledge of

diagnostic criteria and clinical assessment. Ability to assess risk and respond appropriately to mental health crises. Strong clinical documentation, communication, organization, and time-management skills. Working knowledge of HIPAA, mandated-reporting requirements, professional ethics, and Louisiana standards governing counseling practice. Ability to work independently while also participating in a collaborative clinical environment. Reliable attendance and the ability to consistently work the agreed-upon 20-hour weekly schedule. Comfortable using electronic health records, telehealth platforms, and other practice technology. Preferred Qualifications Experience with trauma-informed counseling, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, life transitions, grief, perfectionism, codependency, women's mental health, ADHD, or nervous-system regulation. Additional training or certification in approaches such as EMDR, ACT, CBT, mindfulness-based interventions, play therapy, sand tray therapy, or other evidence-based modalities. Experience providing therapy across multiple age groups. Currently credentialed with one or more major commercial insurance networks.
