Job Summary We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Professionals | Specialists to join our team. The Mental Health Professional (MHP) provides direct clinical services to individuals and families in accordance with Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) and CARF standards. The MHP is responsible for delivering evidence-based, person-centered, and trauma-informed care that promotes recovery, resilience, and improved quality of life for clients. The ideal candidate will work closely with clients to deliver structured, one-on-one or group skill-building sessions based on the client's individualized plan of care. Supports clients in real-world environments (home, school, community, or clinic setting) to generalize learned skills and provides crisis intervention as clinically indicated. The MHP will teach and model skills in areas such as: Social interaction and communication Problem-solving and decision-making Coping strategies for stress and emotional regulation. The MHP will ensure all clinical documentation meets LDH, Medicaid, and agency standards, including timeliness, accuracy, and medical necessity. The role requires adherence to ethical guidelines, confidentiality laws (HIPAA), and organizational policies related to client rights, cultural competence, safety, and quality of care. The MHP will participate in case reviews, supervision, and staff training as required. Services are delivered in outpatient, community-based, or telehealth settings in compliance with all state and federal regulations and requires a strong understanding of various mental health practices and the ability to engage effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Responsibilities Provide direct support to clients in an outpatient setting, assisting with daily activities and therapeutic tasks. Conduct patient assessments and assist in the development of individualized care plans. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Implement behavior management strategies and assist in crisis management as needed. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care and effective treatment outcomes. Qualifications Masters or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Education, Social Work, or related field preferred. Prior experience working with youth or adults in behavioral health, education, or social services is strongly preferred. Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills. Ability to model positive behaviors and problem-solving strategies. Must pass background check, drug screening, and meet state/federal employment requirements. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if services are provided in the community). Experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in a mental health setting is preferred. Knowledge of behavioral health principles, patient care protocols, and clinical counseling practices is essential. Previous hospital or clinic experience is highly desirable. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds are crucial.
