SSP Therapeutic Program Beverly Public Schools - 3.7 Beverly, MA Job Details Part-time 4 hours ago Qualifications Bachelor's degree Special Education Certification Full Job Description Job Description This is a 0.40 FTE position. The SSP School Adjustment Counselor provides crisis, outreach and counseling services as part of a comprehensive therapeutic program for students enrolled in the SSP program in order to address social, emotional and behavioral needs that impact educational performance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Consult with teachers, administrators, and parents/guardians to develop and implement effective interventions and supports to meet social, emotional, and behavioral needs Plan and deliver therapeutic intervention to special education students placed in the SSP program to meet the needs of the assigned caseload Provide crisis intervention within the SSP program and at the building level if needed Provide support to other schools during a crisis situation if needed Complete formal observations and assessment of social and emotional functioning, including the writing and presentation of formal reports for Team evaluations Consult and work in collaboration with other collateral agencies and/or mental health providers including private therapists, DCF, DMH, etc. Consult and work in collaborations with families to support generalization of skills Make referrals to community resources and outside agencies Write IEP goals and progress reports Maintain data regarding service provision and student progress monitoring Complete required documentation for Medicaid reimbursement Participate in Team meetings Develop and implement behavior plans Support staff with implementation of behavior plans Complete Functional Behavioral Assessments when assigned Participate in the program exploration process for new referrals to the program which may include consult meetings, file review and observation Maintain compliance with IEP service delivery Complete required paperwork related to use of restraint, incident reports or other required documentation in accordance with district procedures Other related duties as assigned. Requirements Valid Massachusetts DESE licensure At least two (2) years of relevant experience preferred Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in the appropriate content area Compensation Compensation is set in accordance with the Beverly Teachers Association Unit A collective bargaining agreement and is commensurate with experience and education. Employment Eligibility Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a CORI and SORI background check and fingerprint-based national criminal history check, in accordance with Massachusetts law. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
