Responsibilities Conduct thorough intake assessments utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to evaluate clients' substance use history and mental health status Deliver individual and group counseling sessions employing evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA) Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with client goals, incorporating crisis intervention strategies and behavior management techniques Provide specialized counseling for populations with unique needs, including children with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), PTSD care, geriatrics, and individuals facing gender issues or grief Document all clinical interactions accurately in medical records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for case management, patient assessment, and research initiatives to enhance treatment efficacy Support patients through crisis management efforts and facilitate referrals for additional services such as social work or specialized outpatient programs Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor - Adult (CSC-AD), Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor - Adult (CAC-AD), or equivalent credential; additional certifications such as ADT or are highly desirable Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, or chronic pain conditions Strong knowledge of ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical terminology related to behavioral health Experience delivering psychotherapy modalities such as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, or addiction counseling in inpatient or outpatient settings Familiarity with telehealth platforms and delivering services remotely is preferred Ability to handle crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention techniques and crisis management protocols Excellent documentation skills ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards and accurate medical records management Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams in clinical research or patient care environments Join us if you're passionate about empowering individuals on their recovery journey!
