Substance Use Disorder Counselor (CAC-AD / CSC-AD / LGADC / LCADC)

•-- Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join our outpatient treatment team. Under the supervision of our Clinical Director, the counselor will provide comprehensive addiction counseling services, including individual and group therapy, treatment planning, and clinical documentation. This role is designed to support counselors at various stages of their credentialing journey within the Maryland counselor credential ladder. Candidates with trainee or certification-level credentials are encouraged to apply, as we will provide supervision aligned with your scope of practice. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering compassionate, culturally competent care to individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.

•-- Responsibilities Conduct addiction counseling sessions through individual and group therapy to support clients' recovery goals. Perform client assessments to evaluate substance use patterns, mental health status, and co-occurring disorders. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, ensuring they align with clinical best practices and client needs. Facilitate group sessions focused on behavioral health education, relapse prevention, and coping skills development. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems in compliance with confidentiality standards. Work with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and competence in all interactions. Uphold strict confidentiality of client information in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines. Collaborate closely with the clinical team to ensure integrated care for clients with co-occurring disorders. Support clients' progress through ongoing assessment, feedback, and adjustment of treatment strategies as needed.

•-- Experience Experience in addiction counseling or mental health and behavioral care is preferred. Prior experience working with individuals who have co-occurring disorders is highly desirable. Familiarity with client assessment techniques used in therapy settings. Ability to work effectively with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems for documentation purposes is advantageous. Candidates should possess a Maryland counselor credential at the

CAC-AD, CSC-AD, LGADC, LCADC

level or be working toward it under approved supervision.

Pay:

$25.94 - $31.23 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
