Job Description
Full job description Maryland Wellness and Recovery is looking to add to our clinical team to work from our outpatient center in Rockville, Maryland, as well as our 3.1 low-intensity residential facilities. The counselor will work directly with our patients, assisting them to achieve a sober, drug-free lifestyle while maintaining the highest quality of care in a safe and healing environment. The counselor will be part of an expanding team where support and respect are commonplace.
Monday-Friday:
Hours can be discussed during the interview. Office closed on major holidays. Eligible candidates will be required to pass a national background check and drug screen.Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address substance use issues
- Utilize applied behavior analysis techniques to develop treatment plans and interventions
- Collaborate with other behavioral health professionals to ensure comprehensive care
- Implement therapy strategies to promote positive behavior change
- Offer addiction counseling and support to individuals struggling with substance use
- Utilize behavior management techniques to address challenging behaviors
- Conduct patient assessments to determine appropriate treatment approaches
- Maintain accurate and thorough clinical documentation of patient progress and treatment plans
- Provide compassionate and effective patient care throughout the recovery process
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of individual and group counseling techniques
- Proficiency in applied behavior analysis principles and strategies
- Experience in providing patient and family counseling services
- Solid understanding of behavioral health concepts and practices
- Ability to implement cognitive behavioral therapy and other therapy techniques effectively
- Knowledge of addiction counseling principles and interventions
- Skill in behavior management strategies for addressing challenging behaviors
- Proficient in conducting patient assessments for treatment planning purposes
- Attention to detail in maintaining accurate clinical documentation
- Excellent interpersonal skills for providing compassionate patient care
Requirements:
- Valid Maryland certification or licensure as a Substance Use Counselor ( CSC-AD, CAC-AD, LGADC, LCADC, LGPC or LCPC)
- Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines
- Familiarity with community resources for referrals and support services
- Dependability is a must
