We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Therapist to join our team at Traverse City Area Public Schools West Middle School in Traverse City, Michigan. About the Role As part of NMHSI's Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model, the Behavioral Health Therapist provides behavioral health services to students within a collaborative school-based setting. This position works closely with students, families, teachers, school staff, and healthcare professionals to promote emotional well-being, improve psychosocial functioning, and support academic success. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with children and adolescents, thrives in a team-based environment, and is committed to improving access to behavioral health services in our community. What You'll Do Provide individual, family, and group counseling services to students Conduct behavioral health screenings, assessments, and diagnoses Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Provide crisis intervention and short-term behavioral health support Collaborate with teachers, school staff, families, and community partners to coordinate care Connect students and families with appropriate community resources and support services Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within the electronic health record Participate in multidisciplinary care conferences and treatment team meetings Provide behavioral health consultation, education, and support to school personnel Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and organizational goals Qualifications Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field Michigan licensure as LMSW, LLMSW, LPC, LLPC, LMFT, or equivalent Experience providing behavioral health services in a community-based, healthcare, or school setting preferred Experience working with children and adolescents preferred Strong assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and communication skills Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team Commitment to ethical practice, patient confidentiality, and culturally responsive care Proficiency with electronic health record systems and Microsoft Office applications Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus Why Join NMHSI?
