Behavioral Specialist JEC Miller, Inc. | Dakota County JEC Miller, Inc. is excited to expand Behavioral Specialist services through the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Stabilization Program , developed in partnership with Dakota County Social Services . This innovative program is designed to support children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families by providing intensive therapeutic services aimed at improving stability, strengthening family relationships, and reducing the need for more restrictive interventions. As a Behavioral Specialist, you will provide person-centered, family-focused services in both the child's family home and at our crisis respite stabilization site in Lakeville. The program was developed to address the complex behavioral and mental health needs of children with IDD by actively engaging caregivers and family members as essential partners in treatment and support. Specialists maintain a caseload of families and collaborate closely with children, caregivers, support staff, case managers, school personnel, mental health professionals, medical providers, and other members of each individual's support team. Key Responsibilities Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans Provide therapeutic and behavioral interventions Implement, monitor, and evaluate treatment outcomes Coach parents and caregivers in effective support strategies Train direct support staff to promote consistent approaches across environments Develop crisis prevention and intervention plans Facilitate parent and child support groups Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care Maintain accurate and timely documentation Why Join JEC Miller? Meaningful work that improves the lives of children and families Collaborative and supportive team environment Opportunity to help shape and grow an innovative community-based program Clinical supervision available for professionals pursuing licensure Strong partnership with community providers and county services Qualifications Option 1: Licensed or License-Eligible Professional Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field Currently pursuing professional licensure or hold an active, unrestricted Minnesota license (LP, LICSW, LPCC, or LMFT) Option 2: Bachelor's-Level Professional Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field Minimum of 2,000 hours of supervised experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities Previous training and experience in crisis prevention and intervention If you are passionate about supporting children with IDD and their families while working within an innovative, person-centered program, we encourage you to apply.
