Our collegiate program, Barnabas Prep, extends our vision into education and vocational training for young adults with disabilities, offering a comprehensive curriculum that encompasses essential life skills, biblical education, job readiness, and interview skills. Barnabas is committed to creating a supportive, inclusive, and faith-based environment for our campers, students, and staff. The Behavioral Health Provider will provide part time coverage for Barnabas Prep and Camp Barnabas, as well as on-call services in the emergency situations. This role involves assessing, consulting, and providing interventions for a diverse population, including those with special needs, in a compassionate and respectful manner. This is a part-time (16-24 hours per week), year round position.

Description of Duties and Responsibilities:

Build and maintain supportive and therapeutic relationships with Barnabas team and students. Provide behavioral health consultations and interventions on an as-needed basis. Assess behavioral and mental health issues in individuals and create appropriate action plans. Collaborate with staff and caregivers to develop strategies for managing challenging behaviors. Helps create mental health policies and adheres to those policies. Offer support and training to staff on behavioral health best practices. Monitor the progress of individuals and adjust interventions as necessary. Ensure interventions align with the mission and values of the Barnabas Foundation. Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions. Assist in communicating with families as needed. Advise Barnabas Team on navigating all issues related to mental health. Is present at Barnabas Prep 2- 3 days per week when residential students are on campus, and then transitions to Camp Barnabas in Purdy, MO while camp is in session. Supports a calm, preventative approach by de-escalating situations, avoiding unnecessary escalation, and using sound judgment to address concerns without intensifying them. Documents appropriately and thoroughly. Maintains documents according to policy. There may be other duties assigned by the direct supervisor when necessary. This list may not be exhaustive.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Experience working with individuals with special needs. Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Professionalism and acute attention to detail. Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to organize and prioritize job responsibilities. Follow uniform standards and policies. Model of Christian life in the community.

Education and Experience:

Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field. Current licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or similar. Minimum of 3 years of experience in behavioral health consultation or therapy. Experience consulting with individuals with disabilities preferred.
