A Mental or Behavioral Health Counselor works with patients to treat mental health problems. Assesses patients and assists with diagnosis, counseling and crisis intervention. Consults with nurses, doctors and psychiatrists. May work with specific populations, such as youth, senior citizens or substance abusers, in group settings, facilities or hospitals.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- To independently assess, diagnose, counsel and treat the child and adolescent patient population.
- Interview, assess and provide individual counseling utilizing evidence-based modalities to the clients who are experiencing personal, social, educational or vocational problems.
- Evaluate treatment of clients and modify treatment based on specific individual's evaluation.
- Collaborate with physicians and other specialists in the referral of clients.
- This is a fully clinical position, but there can be different opportunities that become available for teaching, supervision, and academic work that will adjust work expectations. Shift Monday
- Friday 8:00 a.m.
- 5:00 p.
Note:
For some positions, three (3) years of clinical therapeutic experience in a medical setting working with a broad range of social, psychological, or behavior issues may be substituted for the licensure/certification. At least one of the three years of experience must be post-masters.)Anticipated Hiring Range Salary Range:
$59,321.60- $78,041.
