- Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) to join our team.
The LCDC will provide individual and group counseling, complete assessments, develop treatment plans, maintain accurate documentation, and support clients throughout their recovery journey. The ideal candidate is committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based care while fostering a safe and supportive environment. Responsibilities Conduct substance use assessments and bio-psychosocial evaluations. Educate clients and families on addiction, recovery, relapse prevention, and coping skills. Ensure compliance with all state regulations, ethical standards, and agency policies. Develop individualized treatment and recovery plans. Facilitate individual, group, and family counseling sessions. Monitor client progress and update treatment plans as needed. Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation. Coordinate care with medical providers, case managers, and community resources. Provide crisis intervention when necessary. Requirements Valid licensure as a Chemical Dependency Counselor (e.g., CADC or equivalent) with current certification in good standing recognized by state licensing boards. Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds while maintaining patient confidentiality per HIPAA regulations. Proven experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions in diverse settings such as hospitals or community clinics. Strong knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic standards, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and clinical documentation standards. Proficiency in behavioral health modalities including motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), and behavior management techniques. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems, medical terminology, CPT coding, and medical documentation best practices. Excellent skills in client assessment, crisis intervention, case management, and group facilitation within a culturally sensitive framework.
