In this role, you will deliver evidence-based mental health services to children, adolescents, and their families, focusing on trauma recovery and emotional well-being. This position offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in clients' lives through innovative therapeutic approaches. You will work within a supportive environment that values professional growth, clinical excellence, and client-centered care. Responsibilities Provide trauma-informed therapy utilizing TF-CBT techniques to children and adolescents experiencing trauma-related symptoms. Conduct comprehensive intake assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and medical record reviews, ensuring accurate patient documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Develop individualized treatment plans aligned with clinical best practices and client needs, incorporating modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, or dance/movement therapy as appropriate. Engage in crisis intervention and crisis management to support clients during acute emotional distress or behavioral episodes. Collaborate with families, schools, and other support systems to enhance treatment outcomes through child & family counseling and case management. Maintain detailed medical documentation using
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding for diagnoses and CPT coding for billing purposes; ensure timely submission of clinical notes and progress reports. Participate in clinical research initiatives or data collection efforts aimed at improving therapeutic strategies for individuals with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder. Requirements Current licensure as an LP (Licensed Professional Counselor), LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), or LCMHC (Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor). Proven experience in psychotherapy, including working with children, families, and individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder. Strong knowledge of trauma-focused interventions such as TF-CBT; experience with PTSD care is highly desirable. Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and electronic health records systems ensuring accurate documentation. Ability to conduct intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and group therapy sessions effectively within outpatient settings. Experience with telehealth platforms to deliver remote therapy sessions while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Skills in crisis management, behavior management, addiction counseling, grief counseling, psychopharmacology basics, and working within multidisciplinary teams are preferred. Excellent communication skills to engage clients across diverse backgrounds while demonstrating cultural competence and sensitivity to gender issues counseling or Christian counseling preferences if applicable.
