Director of Clinical Services Job Summary Facilitate individual and group counseling for individuals with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders; provide counseling, consulting, and other duties within a team of professionals in a large therapeutic community setting; document and maintain records of all scheduled interactions. Must exercise discretion and independent judgment in the oversight of daily operations and the appropriate implementation of program policies, guidelines, and procedures. This position is not eligible for overtime. Position is classified as exempt -- professional. Primary duty of work requires advanced knowledge that must be customarily acquired by prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction. Duties and Responsibilities Facilitate individual and group counseling Work collaboratively with TROSA treatment members to coordinate resident services Attend client staffing meetings and communicate client information in a timely manner to select members of the treatment team Document all services as required by TROSA and in accordance with the NC Division of Mental Health, Substance Abuse Services, and Developmental Disabilities Participate in weekly supervision meetings and case discussion meetings Adhere to professional ethics and standards of conduct Adhere to the mission, philosophy, policies, and procedures of TROSA Attend necessary trainings for licensure and continuing education Assist with crisis response Provide other services as assigned Create Provisional Diagnoses for new residents Maintain established TROSA standards and procedures and support all therapeutic community program initiatives Demonstrate positive social behaviors to help promote effective interpersonal communication/behavioral skills for residents Help maintain and manage triage list and clinical appointment referral list Supervise social work interns Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of substance use and mental health disorders Knowledge of counseling theories and practice Knowledge of and experience in crisis intervention and counseling Experience with group and individual counseling, process, and psycho-educational Knowledge of and experience with gender specific counseling Competence in assessment and diagnostic skills Commitment to diversity; competence in multicultural issues Excellent communication skills Excellent writing skills Skilled in relevant computer operations (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Credentials or Experience Licensed Clinical Social Worker Master's degree is Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field Working towards a master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field Licensed Professional Counselor Prior substance abuse counseling experience Certification as an Addictions Counselor or Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist is preferred Certified in CPR, First Aid, and EBPI and Ethics Training Special Requirements Ability to work outside of traditional office hours to accommodate resident work schedules Availability to attend facility functions
