Adolescent Counselor - Full Time Join a supportive team who values Compassion, Excellence, Collaboration, Inclusion, Hope, & Authenticity! As our Adolescent Counselor, you will provide developmentally appropriate behavioral health and substance use services to adolescents and their families. The position is responsible for assessment, treatment planning, individual and group counseling, family engagement, care coordination, crisis intervention, and clinical documentation. The Adolescent Counselor works collaboratively with adolescents, caregivers, internal treatment teams, schools, referral sources, and community partners to increase engagement in treatment, address behavioral health and substance use needs, strengthen protective factors, and support successful functioning within the home, school, and community. Schedule Flexible - 40 hours per week. Pay $26.44+ per hour, based on credentials. You would receive 10 paid holidays as well as PTO hours which would accrue at a rate of 10 hours per month. After 6 months you would be eligible to enroll in our 401(k) plan which has a 4% match. We also provide company paid life insurance, short- and long-term disability, in house and paid training opportunities, and paid credentialing. SouthLight is also an approved employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF). We are excited to offer an additional benefit of Clinical Supervision Reimbursement. We will provide a monthly reimbursement of up to $200 (full-time) or $100 (part-time) to each associate level clinician electing this benefit for no more than 2 years, or until licensure is completed, whichever is first. Licensures eligible to receive this benefit include LCSWA, LCMHCA, LMFTA, LPA, LCASA, and CADC. Job Responsibilities of an Adolescent Counselor Provide screening assessments (virtual, office, and/or community), and evaluations in a professional and engaging manner, gathering the required information, determining diagnoses and the appropriate level of care Provide individual, group, and family counseling based on assessed clinical needs and individualized treatment plans Identify elements of member crisis, respond to each members' needs to ensure their safety, integrate crisis experience into the treatment process. Provide on-call crisis coverage Engage parent, caregivers, and natural supports in treatment when clinically appropriate. Coordinate services with internal and external providers to support continuity of care. Participate in treatment team meetings, case consultations, clinical meetings, and other program activities For each client assigned, provides an orientation that outlines the services they will be receiving, explains and schedules services and clarifies the following: confidentiality, client rights, consents for services, and financial requirements. Collaborate with schools, juvenile justice partners, healthcare providers, child-serving agencies, and other systems when appropriate and authorized. Participate in discharge and transition planning to promote continuity of care. Document case management and care coordination activities according to organizational and payer requirements. Leverage Eleos AI, an innovative clinical documentation tool that reduces note-writing time so you can spend more time focusing on participant care. Qualifications of an Adolescent Counselor Education and Experience Minimum Master's degree in a Human Services field Licensure/Certifications Licensed to practice clinically (LCAS, LCSW, LMFT, LPC) - LCAS/A preferred OR Will become fully licensed (provisionally licensed at date of hire) within 2 years of hire Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Microsoft Office Suite Ability, knowledge, and training to understand nature of addiction, withdrawal symptoms, and identify symptoms of alcohol and drug addiction Ability to manage time effectively Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Familiarity with the DSM 5 for diagnostic and treatment purposes/ diagnostic skills Working knowledge of systems theory and/or other counseling theories and substance abuse treatment Excellent writing skills Ability to foster a cooperative work environment; ability to work in a team setting as well as independently Proactively seeks out clients through internal and external outreach if case load does not provide enough cases to meet billable expectation/productivity requirement About Us Tap into your passion at SouthLight.
