• Raleigh, NC Position Summary I CAN Recovery Care is seeking an experienced and engaging Licensed Clinical Staff member to serve as an SACOP Group Facilitator for our Substance Abuse Comprehensive Outpatient Treatment Program.

The Group Facilitator will provide structured, recovery-focused substance use disorder treatment to adults participating in our ASAM Level 2.5 SACOP program. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions and will be comfortable facilitating structured therapeutic and psychoeducational groups. The facilitator will work collaboratively with the treatment team to ensure services are individualized, clinically appropriate, recovery-focused, and consistent with each participant's Person-Centered Plan (PCP).

Primary Responsibilities:

• Facilitate SACOP group counseling, therapy, psychoeducation, and recovery-support activities.
• Deliver substance use-focused interventions consistent with ASAM Level 2.5 treatment.
• Provide interventions identified within each participant's Person-Centered Plan.
• Facilitate education and skill development related to:
• Relapse prevention
• Recovery and support systems
• Coping skills
• Life skills
• Crisis and safety planning
• Substance use education
• Physical health management
• Co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions
• Assist with coordination and referrals for substance use treatment, recovery resources, MAT, medical services, behavioral health services, and other needed supports.
• Participate in treatment planning and interdisciplinary coordination as appropriate.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation of services provided within agency stated time-frame.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, client rights, documentation standards, and applicable state requirements.
• Follow program procedures regarding crisis response, substance use concerns, drug screening, safety, and emergencies.

Required Training SACOP staff must complete required training in accordance with the

NC SACOP

  Level 2.5 Definition and Required Components
• (LCAS must have proper population specific curriculum for adults) Additional required training includes ASAM Criteria, Person-Centered Planning, Trauma-Informed Care, Co-Occurring Conditions, Motivational Interviewing, Pregnancy and SUD, designated treatment modalities, and annual continuing education as required by the service definition.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience facilitating substance use disorder treatment groups.
• Experience working within an SACOT, residential SUD, detoxification, outpatient SUD, or similar structured substance use treatment setting.
• Knowledge of ASAM Criteria and ASAM Level 2.5.
• Experience treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
• Experience with motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, CBT, psychoeducation, or other evidence-based SUD interventions.
• Strong group management, communication, clinical documentation, and crisis intervention skills.

The facilitator must be dependable and consistently available for scheduled groups. Additional administrative/documentation time may be required outside of direct group hours. Ideal Candidate We are looking for a clinician who can do more than present educational material. The ideal facilitator can engage participants, manage group dynamics, encourage meaningful discussion, maintain appropriate boundaries, and translate clinical concepts into practical recovery skills participants can use in their daily lives.

• Valid licensure as a Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) or equivalent credential with demonstrated expertise in addiction medicine and mental health counseling.
• Must maintain professional licensure and/or certification throughout employment with the clinic.
• Five years of experience providing diagnostic assessment and therapy services to adults.

Experience facilitating structured substance use treatment groups is strongly preferred.

License/Certification:

LCAS; LCAS-A; LCSW; LCSWA; LCMHC; LCMHCA; LMFT; or LMFTA (Required)
