Psychotherapist•RWJBarnabas Health At Children's Specialized Hospital, part of RWJBarnabas Health, the Psychotherapist plays a vital role in supporting the emotional, behavioral, and psychological well-being of children, adolescents, and young adults. As part of a collaborative, family-centered team, the Psychotherapist provides behavioral health assessments, evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and individualized care designed to improve emotional regulation, adaptive coping, behavioral functioning, and overall quality of life. Working closely with patients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary providers, the Psychotherapist helps children reach their fullest potential while supporting their developmental and therapeutic goals. A typical day for a Psychotherapist may include: Conducts comprehensive behavioral health assessments and develops accurate clinical diagnoses Develops and implements individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that support each patient's unique needs and goals Provides individual, family, and caregiver-focused psychotherapy to promote emotional regulation, adaptive coping, and improved behavioral functioning Monitors patient progress and modifies treatment plans based on clinical response and ongoing assessment Collaborates with physicians, rehabilitation therapists, schools, community providers, and caregivers to coordinate comprehensive patient care Identifies and responds appropriately to patient safety concerns while maintaining the highest standards of ethical and clinical practice Maintains timely, accurate documentation in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and professional standards Participates in interdisciplinary case conferences, treatment planning meetings, and program development initiatives Provides consultation, education, and in-service training to staff and community partners as requested May provide clinical supervision or mentorship to fellows, interns, externs, or other trainees, as applicable Performs additional responsibilities as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals This role might be for you if: You are passionate about improving the lives of children, adolescents, young adults, and their families Clear, compassionate communication defines how you build therapeutic relationships with patients, caregivers, and colleagues You thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment and enjoy partnering with medical, rehabilitation, educational, and community providers You are committed to delivering evidence-based, patient•and family-centered behavioral health care You remain adaptable while managing a diverse caseload and evolving patient needs Professional integrity, clinical excellence, and attention to detail guide your work every day Continuous learning and helping patients reach their fullest potential motivate you To be considered for this Psychotherapist opportunity: Master's degree required with completed clinical training hours Current Jersey licensure required as one of the following: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Licensed Social Worker (LSW) Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) American Heart Association BLS Provider Certification required A minimum of one year of behavioral health or psychotherapy experience is preferred Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary care teams Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and telehealth communication skills Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends based on program and patient needs RWJBarnabas Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer
