SIGN ON BONUS
Up to $4,000 LMSW, MSW, Or Related Master's Degree Graduates who have completed their MSW are welcome to apply and may be hired under a NYS Limited Permit while working toward full licensure. MHAST provides supervision and will pay for the LMSW exam as part of our commitment to supporting your professional development.

Job Summary:
The Mental Health Clinician plays a critical role in responding to individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis. This role involves crisis intervention, conducting assessments, providing de-escalation and support services in a variety of settings, including homes, schools, and community locations. Referrals to the program may come from law enforcement, families, schools, and other community partners. Serving individuals of all ages, the Mental Health Clinician offers compassionate, person-centered care aimed at promoting stabilization of symptoms through strong clinical judgment, advocacy, and coordination with other service providers. The Mental Health Clinician also ensures appropriate resource linkage and follow-up support for individuals and families. In addition to crisis interventions, this position will assist with other clinical responsibilities as needed. These may include supporting agency trainings and contributing to the development and opening of our supportive crisis stabilization center. We are looking for someone who is flexible and open to evolving responsibilities as part of a dynamic and growing clinical team. Additional details about these evolving duties will be discussed during the interview process.
Working Conditions:
Work Environment:
The role involves a mix of fieldwork (schools, homes, shelters, etc.) and office settings. You will be exposed to a variety of home environments, which may be in poor condition.
Physical Demands:
The job includes walking, bending, standing, climbing stairs, and light to medium lifting (up to 50 lbs).
Travel:
Some travel is required, including client transportation and traveling between MHAST locations.
Schedule:
Flexible hours based on staffing needs; the position may require evening or weekend shifts.
Field Work:
40% community/field work, 40% follow-up support and community engagement, 20% other responsibilities.
Job Requirements:
The role may evolve as needed, with additional tasks assigned at the discretion of MHAST.
