Description Position Overview Centered Living Counseling Services is seeking a dedicated and licensed mental health counselor to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis. The counseling sessions will be conducted remotely, enabling you to connect with clients in a flexible setting while maintaining a high standard of care. Work Environment This role will primarily be remote, providing flexibility and convenience for both our clients and our therapist. However, counselors will also have the opportunity to interact in person at our outpatient office in Commack as needed. Our office fosters an environment of support, professionalism, and teamwork. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations to assess clients' emotional, behavioral, and psychological needs. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate both therapeutic interventions and recovery strategies. Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, applying evidence-based practices to achieve optimal client outcomes. Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress, from initial consultation through the course of treatment. Regularly monitor and adjust treatment activities based on clients' evolving needs and feedback. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and social workers, to refine intervention strategies. Provide crisis intervention support as necessary and follow up with clients who may be referred to higher levels of care. Support and educate families and caregivers on managing mental health challenges faced by their loved ones. Patient Population / Client Focus Our counseling services cater to a diverse population, including individuals, couples, families, and groups of all ages facing a variety of mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, addiction, and relationship challenges. We strive to create an inclusive environment where every client feels valued and understood, allowing for a more effective healing process. Qualifications A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from a recognized institution. Active, unrestricted licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York. A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE). Exceptional interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach towards client care. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective client interactions and documentation. Preferred Experience Prior professional experience in a mental health counseling role, preferably within an outpatient or community setting. Familiarity with electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, to efficiently manage patient information. Experience working with clients facing dual diagnoses, including physical health complications and addiction disorders. Knowledge of best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) and awareness of pharmacological treatments. Compensation and Benefits The annual salary for this full-time position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 based on experience and qualifications, supplemented by a potential sign-on bonus.
