A Mental or Behavioral Health Counselor works with patients to treat mental health problems. Assesses patients and assists with diagnosis, counseling and crisis intervention. Consults with nurses, doctors and psychiatrists. May work with specific populations, such as youth, senior citizens or substance abusers, in group settings, facilities or hospitals.

Job Description
Lexington Center, the largest provider of outpatient and residential substance use disorder services in the Hudson Valley, is seeking full-time substance use counselor for its Poughkeepsie location. Duties include intake, individual, group and family counseling, case management and documentation. Must have a CASAC or CASAC-T and/or have a NYS license in a behavioral health field. Early morning or evening hours maybe required. Bilingual, spanish and english, is a plus.
